102 Sainik School students isolated Hubli News – Times of India

Belagavi: 102 girl students of Rani Chennamma Girls Residential School have been isolated on the campus after 12 students suspected of COVID-19 infection.
After all 102 students complained of fever/cough/discomfort on Saturday, a team of health officials ran a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on them, and found 12 of them positive for the virus. The health department is currently ensuring that the 12 cases are considered “suspect” as the RT-PCR test results are awaited.
Although Sainik School has suspended classes, it has not been closed completely yet. The administration is also contemplating to send the class 7 and 8 students home after analyzing the situation. The school, run by a private trust, has more than 400 girl students.
A school official said that when the children were brought to the ground for physical activities, they complained of uneasiness. On investigation, 102 students reported high temperature, after which the health department was informed.
District health officer Dr Shashikant Muniyal told TOI that the test results are getting delayed as only one laboratory is functioning in the district. “At present, there are 12 suspected cases, while others have been isolated. We have not ordered for sealing as RAT is not a true indicator of COVID.
