1100 Indians rescued from Sudan so far, states came forward to help: 10 major reforms

The first of 367 citizens reached New Delhi airport from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia late on Wednesday night.

Amidst the ongoing civil war in the African country Sudan, India is evacuating Indians from there under ‘Operation Kaveri’. By Thursday afternoon, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force rescued a second fleet of 246 Indians. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, ‘1100 Indians have been evacuated from Sudan so far under Operation Kaveri.’

  1. Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Thursday‘Operation Kaveri’ Informed. He said- ‘Our aim is to send people to a safe place as soon as possible and bring them to India. Bad bad in Sudan, we will get every Indian out of there.

  2. According to Kwatra, there are 3500 Indians in Sudan and 1000 Indians of Indian origin right now. All efforts are being made to get them out of there. INS Tarkash has also reached Port Sudan to bring Indians.

  3. Earlier, the first e-mail of 367 citizens had reached New Delhi airport from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia late at night. People who reached the airport raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Indian Army Zindabad’, ‘Narendra Modi Zindabad’.

  4. So far 1100 Indians from Sudan have been brought to Saudi Arabia by sea and air. Of these, 367 Indians reached New Delhi from Jeddah on Wednesday night. All others are in Jeddah. They will also be brought to India soon. More than 4,000 Indians were living in Sudan.

  5. Earlier 278 people were rescued from Sudan. 121 and 135 people were boycotted in the second and third shutters. After this, 136 and 297 people were airlifted in the fourth and fifth leaves. 128 people have been brought from Sudan to Jeddah in the sixth floor on Thursday morning.

  6. The 72-hour ceasefire in Sudan is till 12 midnight on 27 April. During this, it is time to evacuate other countries from here. However, clashes have been reported in other parts of the country, including Khartoum, even after the ceasefire.

  7. Fighting began on 15 April between the army and the Paramilitary Force (RSF) for the coup in Sudan. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 459 people and soldiers have been killed so far in the fighting. While 4072 people have been injured.

  8. Several states have set up help desks for older Indians in conflict-torn Sudan. On his return to the country, it has been announced to make free arrangements for his travel, tents and facilities like food and drink. The Kerala government said it was acting ruler to bring home the Malayalees being looked after by the Center in Sudan.

  9. The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a help desk in Delhi for the people of Budhi Pradesh in Sudan. Additional Resident Commissioner, Lucknow, Soumya Srivastava has issued a statement that in connection with the crisis and situation in the African country Sudan, a helpdesk has been set up at the Resident Commissioner’s office in New Delhi for the residents of Uttar Pradesh.
