1,150 mobile medical units operating in Tamil Nadu: Minister

Health Minister Ma said that in view of the rains, 1,150 mobile medical units have started operating across the state. Subramaniam said on Wednesday.

A total of 74,283 persons were screened through medical camps and 965 mobile medical units organized at 1,858 places in the state in the last three days. According to a press release, most of the persons examined were treated for fever, diarrhoea, cold and minor injuries.

Under this, 400 mobile medical units were launched in a program in Ayyappakkam on Wednesday. In addition, 750 jeeps will also carry medical aid across the state. The health department has spent Rs 120 crore on medicines needed for the treatment of rain-related diseases.

On COVID-19 vaccination, he said so far 5,73,30,450 persons were vaccinated through government immunization centres, while 26,82,556 persons were vaccinated through private centres. So far the total coverage has crossed six crores – 6,00,18,006.
