New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 3,43,08,140 with a single-day increase of 11,903 new infections, while the number of active cases declined to 1,51,209, according to data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday. Which is the lowest in 252 days. .

The number of people recovering from the disease rose to 3,36,97,740, while the death rate was recorded at 1.34 per cent.

The cumulative dose administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign has exceeded 107.29 crore.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020; 30 lakh on 23 August; 40 lakhs on 5th September and 50 lakhs on 16th September. It crossed 60 lakhs on 28 September; 70 lakhs on 11th October, crossed 80 lakhs on 29th October; 90 lakh on 20 November and crossed one crore on 19 December.

India crossed the grim milestone of two crore COVID-19 cases on May 4 and three crore on June 23.

The fatalities linked to the 311 new coronavirus include 187 from Kerala and 48 from Maharashtra.

Of the 187 deaths, 45 were recorded in the last few days, 87 were such that were not confirmed till June 18 last year due to lack of sufficient documentation and 55 were reported to be COVID-19 cases after receiving an appeal based on the Centre’s new guidelines. was designated as death. and directions of the Supreme Court, a Kerala government release said on Tuesday.

The health ministry insisted that over 70 per cent of the deaths were due to comorbidities.

“Our data is being collated with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website. State wise distribution of data is subject to further verification and reconciliation.
