179 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Coimbatore district on Sunday. The health department said 168 persons have recovered from the disease and the district had 1,232 active cases that day. The test positivity rate in the district stood at 9.5% on Saturday, when 178 persons tested positive.

A total of 50,557 people received COVID-19 vaccines in the mega drive held in Coimbatore district on Sunday. The Department of Health said 31,017 people received a booster dose, while 18,604 people took their second dose. 936 people received the first dose. In children aged 12 to 14, 306 individuals received their first dose and the second dose of CORBEVAX. The department said that in the 15 to 18 age group, 565 individuals received their first and second doses.
Tiruppur
Tiruppur district reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. The health department said 29 persons have recovered from the disease and the district had 183 active cases on Sunday. The test positivity rate in the district stood at 14.2% on Saturday, when 39 persons tested positive.
