The incident took place at “Chintels Paradiso” project in Sector 109 of Gurgaon, Haryana.
New Delhi:
Days after a residential tower partially collapsed in Gurgaon, the police have registered a fresh case based on a complaint by the district town planner, questioning the authenticity of the certification with respect to the building design and structure.
A case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy has been registered against several persons, including Prashant Solomon, Managing Director of Chintel India.
“The accident has proved that the certificates of the Structure Engineer and Proof Consultant and the work of the contractor are not creditworthy but forged,” the FIR said.
Structure Engineer, Design Consultant, Architect and Contractor Company are named in the FIR.
It also includes the names of people who were getting major alterations/changes on the 6th floor as per local inquiries.
A major part of the sixth floor of Tower D had collapsed to the first floor, killing two women.
Realty firm Chintels India had on Friday said that the company is cooperating with local authorities on the “unfortunate” incident and will conduct a structural audit of the entire project.
The incident took place at “Chintels Paradiso” project in Sector 109 of Gurgaon, Haryana.
Mr Solomon had earlier tweeted that according to preliminary investigation, he learned that the accident occurred during renovation work being carried out by a resident in his apartment by a contractor.
“We did a structural audit last year when the complaints first came up. We will start a second structural audit at the earliest. If any defects are found in the structure, we will duly compensate the affected buyers or the affected residents in an alternative arrangement. The necessary repair work has been completed. We are cooperating fully with the authorities and ensuring all assistance.”
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had tweeted on the day of the accident that he was personally monitoring the situation.
Gurgaon-based Chintels India has developed several housing and commercial projects in the Dwarka Expressway area.
