The 2022 BMW X4 Coupe SUV is offered in two trims – xDrive30i (petrol) and xDrive30d (diesel).
BMW India has launched the 2022 BMW X4 Coupe SUV in the country, with prices starting at Rs 70.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The facelifted coupe SUV will be offered in two variants – a petrol-powered X4 xDrive30i, and a diesel-powered X4 xDrive30d, priced at ₹72.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The BMW 4X facelift made its global debut last year and the carmaker has finally launched it in India. The SUV is locally manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Chennai, and will be available across all BMW dealerships across India from today.

Commenting on the launch of the updated X4, Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, “The BMW X4 popularized the distinctive sports activity coupe concept in India.” He added, “Now the new BMW X4 With an attractive profile with a refreshed exterior and a host of technical features, it is set to continue its position in the segment. Its forever bold personality will make a statement that is impossible to forget.”

The X4 gets a larger all-black kidney grille with slimmer adaptive LED headlamps and redesigned front apron
BMW 2022 X4 is offering two exclusive color options – Black Sapphire and M Brooklyn Gray Metallic, paired with Leather Vernasca Upholstery with ‘Black’ Decor Stitching. The cabin also gets M interior trim aluminum rhombic dark with a highlight trim finisher in pearl chrome. Apart from the regular variant, the BMW X4 will also be available in a special ‘Black Shadow’ variant, which will be sold in limited numbers. Visually, the X4 gets a facelift that includes a larger, redesigned kidney grille, ‘M High Gloss Shadow Line’, slimmer adaptive LED headlamps and a redesigned front apron. The M shadow line also gets black accents and gets Matrix lights as standard. The SUV also gets vertical air intakes and bumper inserts in Dark Shadow Metallic.

The M high gloss shadow line treatment can also be seen on profiles such as window recess covers, mid pillars, side-view mirrors and roof rails. The SUV rides on a set of 20-inch lightweight M alloy wheels double-spoke and M Sport brakes with red callipers. The rear has also been revamped and it comes with body colored bumpers, which are also new. Changes have also been made in the slim wraparound LED taillamps. The X4 now also gets a bigger tailgate and a wider free-form tailpipe in black.
The cabin too has received a makeover and now looks a lot more upmarket, with new sports seats that can be electrically adjusted and come with memory function. Even the rear seats now get a reclining function. The center console is also new, and we also get the new M headliner anthracite and M leather steering wheel with black stitching and ‘Walknappa’ black with the M logo. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, 3-zone automatic climate control and welcome light carpets. The sharper cockpit is now more driver-focused, comes with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which includes 3D navigation, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a BMW heads-up display.

The infotainment system also gets BMW’s gesture controls and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. BMW also offers a virtual assistant that can be activated by voice commands to perform a number of in-car controls. Also, you get a rear view camera along with a reversing assistant along with a parking assistant. Other safety features include – six airbags, attention assistance, dynamic stability control (DSC) with cornering brake control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat Mounting included.

Under the hood, the 2022 BMW X4 xDrive30i comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 248 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque, while the X4 xDrive30d gets a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder oil burner. Makes 261 bhp and 620 Nm of peak torque. Both come with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters and the xDrive all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard. The SUV also gets features like auto-start-stop, ECO PRO mode, brake energy regeneration, electronic power steering and various driving modes – ECOPRO, COMFORT, SPORT/ SPORT+. The X4 also gets BMW’s Adaptive Suspension, Automatic Differential Brake/Lock (ADB-X), Extended Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.
