This means that the new engine produces around 20 hp more power and 30 Nm more torque than the existing 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that will continue to be offered alongside. The new powertrain will be available with three variants of the car – W6, W8 and W8(O), and is being offered as part of the ‘TurboSport’ series. A look at the price of the new XUV300 TurboSport –

It should be noted that the new 1.2 T-GDi engine is currently only being offered with a 6-speed manual transmission. In contrast, the older turbo-petrol engine is still offered with the option of an optional 6-speed AMT. The new engine also gets passive start/stop technology, and will help the XUV300 directly take on the sporty Hyundai Venue N line that was launched in the country a while back.
The new XUV300 T-GDi is being offered with three paint schemes, Blazing Bronze, Pearl White and Napoli Black. Over the standard XUV300, the new variant also gets T-GDi badging, new dual-tone alloy wheels and red accents on the front grille. Apart from this, the car also gets Mahindra’s new Twin-Peaks logo. It gets an all-black cabin to enhance the sporty appeal.
