3 killed in blast at drug manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh

Three people were killed in a blast at a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit at Gowripattanam in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district. District Collector Madhavi Latha announced financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh each to the families of the victims.

Prima facie it was established that the lapse of the management caused the blast. Further investigation of the matter is on.

Police sources said the incident took place at Vision Drugs Pvt Ltd in Gowripatnam when the employees were resolving a technical issue.

A police officer involved in the investigation said, “There was a technical problem in a pipeline where water and chemicals are recycled. The deputy manager, the shift in-charge and the chemist were at work when the pressure caused by the high temperature caused the pipeline to explode.” Gone.” Told.

The impact of the explosion was so strong that pieces of glass and tin sheets flew into the bodies of all three.

Other personnel from the unit rushed all three to the hospital in Kovuru, but they succumbed to their injuries by then.

State Home Minister T Vanitha visited the hospital and inquired about the accident from the officials.
