At least three sailors were killed in an explosion in an interior compartment of INS Ranvir at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on Tuesday. A recent update said that the 11 injured sailors are being treated at a local naval hospital. However, Indian Navy officials said in their statement that there was “no major material damage” in the incident.
Officials said, “In an unfortunate incident at the Mumbai Naval Dockyard, an explosion in an internal compartment onboard INS Ranvir claimed the lives of 3 sailors. Responding quickly, the ship’s crew brought the situation under control. No major material damage.” It hasn’t happened,” the officials said. said.
Indian Navy officials further said, “INS Ranvir was on a cross coast operational deployment from the Eastern Naval Command and was scheduled to return to the base port soon.” An inquiry has been ordered into the cause of the blast.
