4 arrested for cloning ATM cards Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Police has busted one ATM Four persons, including a card cloning gang and an e-commerce delivery executive, were arrested for allegedly duping crores of people on the pretext of making fake ATM cards and helping in cash withdrawals.
According to the police, the arrested people have been identified as Jaiprakash Verma, a resident of Khora Colony in Ghaziabad, Armaan, a native of Maharajganj district and Tintin Das And NeerajBoth are from Noida.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Rannvijay Singh Said that this gang is working since 2019. The members used to target ATM kiosks where no guard was present.
“Initially, Jayaprakash was arrested and during investigation it was found that in the last two years, Rs 34.50 lakh was deposited in his bank account. This cast doubt on his activities as he worked as a delivery executive for an e-commerce company. Further investigation revealed that he was part of an ATM cloning gang and later three of his associates were also arrested,” Singh said.
The gang members revealed that they used to stand at different ATM kiosks waiting for gullible or illiterate people who found it difficult to withdraw money. “The accused then approached the person on the pretext of helping him, noted down his ATM PIN and later exchanged his ATM card with the cloned one. After the person left the kiosk, the accused used to withdraw cash using the original ATM card,” the ADCP said.
Jayaprakash also revealed that during the delivery of the products, he would carry the cloning machine and insisted that customers swipe their cards to make payments. In this way he was able to steal information from the customer’s card and later use it to steal money.
Police have recovered 42 ATM cards, 41 Aadhar cards and 13 mobile phones from the possession of the accused. It is estimated that they duped people of crores but the exact details are still being ascertained,” said the police officer.
