4-year-old Dutch boy takes mom’s car for joyride, crashes into parked vehicles

No one was hurt during the 4-year-old’s escape.

A four-year-old boy in the Netherlands collided with two cars after taking his mother’s keys and roaring in the car. according to this BBCPolice in the central city of Utrecht said the child crashed into two parked vehicles on Saturday before leaving the scene in his pajamas and barefoot. Seeing the child walking alone on the road in the cold, the people around had informed the police.

Police said on Instagram that no one was hurt during the boy’s escape. The police joked that they had discovered a “new” Max Verstappen“- Belgian-Dutch racing driver and 2021 Formula One World Champion.

In the caption, officials said that the child was awake when his father went to work on Saturday. Then he took the keys to his mother’s car to “go for a drive”. Police were called in to pick up an abandoned vehicle nearby, which appeared to be colliding with two parked cars.

The police then found that the crashed car and the boy were linked. But when officers called the boy’s mother and saw her pretending to be an accident, they realized he was the driver. Police said the youth imitated driving and gestured to turn the steering wheel.

The police took the child to the police station where he was given hot chocolate and a teddy bear before being reunited with his mother. Together, they also went to the accident site, where the 4-year-old was asked if he could show how the car worked. According to a social media post, the child, described by his mother as “resourceful”, opened the vehicle with the key, put it in the ignition and got his foot on the clutch and gas pedal.

The police advised the boy’s mother to be more careful in future and hide the car keys.
