48 booked for robbing, assaulting Keshav Maurya’s son during UP elections

Police have registered an FIR against a group of around 50 people for allegedly assaulting and robbing Yogesh Maurya, son of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, during the assembly elections in the state. The FIR was registered on Sunday based on a complaint by Yogesh Maurya, police said, adding that 25 of the 48 accused have not been named.

SHO Ramesh Kumar of Pensa police station said that on February 24, some people allegedly assaulted Yogesh Maurya and robbed his gold chain near Nara village. The SHO said that the matter is being investigated and action will be taken in the matter.

Keshav Maurya contested the assembly elections from Sirathu seat but lost to Pallavi Patel, who contested on Samajwadi Party ticket.
