Officials said that six students of a government primary school in Gopalpur area fainted during the assembly on Friday morning. The school’s acting principal Seema Verma alleged that the incident took place due to toxic gases emanating from factories in the nearby industrial area. District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police reached the school located in Secunderabad block of the district. District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh said that the condition of the children is fine.
He said that a team of Pollution Control Board has collected samples from the area and the matter is being probed. The DM, however, ruled out the possibility of any poisonous gas causing the students to faint.
