Andhra Pradesh Police on Friday arrested all eight accused involved in the murder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) worker Thota Chandraiah.
The TDP leader was murdered on Thursday in his village in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Guntur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vishal Gunni said, “Andhra Pradesh Police has within 24 hours arrested all the 8 accused involved in the heinous murder of slain TDP leader Thota Chandraiah in Gundalapadu village of Veldurathi mandal of Guntur district. ” Rural District, at a press conference held at his office in Guntur town on Friday.
Terming it a great achievement for the police personnel engaged in the investigation of the case, gathering facts, nabbing all the accused at the earliest, Mr. Gunni warned that any accused in any heinous crime would face severe punishment.
“Thota Chandraiah was murdered on Thursday around 7 am to 7.30 am. When Chandraiah was riding his bike in the village, the accused stopped him and stabbed him to death. As soon as the incident happened, the DSP concerned. , CI and other police personnel reached the spot and secured the facts and collected evidence related to the incident site.”
He said that the police department has constituted a total of four teams to monitor the matter. 4 Circle Inspectors and 6 Sub Inspectors of Police worked on this.
The SP said that the police arrested the main accused Chinta Shivaramaiah along with co-accused Chinta Yalamala Kotaiah, Sammy Raghuramaiah, Sami Ram Koteswara Rao, Chinta Srinivasa Rao, Thota Anjanyulu, Thota Shivanarayan and Chinta Adinarayana.
The SP further said that all these eight people killed the victim under a pre-planned conspiracy.
“They had a confrontation in the past over a cement road. Also, at a recently held function, where some people told Sivaramaiah that Chandraiah was planning to kill him. Then, Sivaramaiah took that notion seriously. and killed Chandraiah before he could respond. As per the plan, Sivaramaiah killed Chandraiah in a heinous manner. The police have taken this matter very seriously and a fair investigation into the incident has been initiated.”
