The BJP will conduct a high voltage campaign on Monday, which is the last day of campaigning for the Bhawanipur assembly seat in Bengal. BJP’s campaign will run from 8 am to 11 am and then from 2 pm to 7 pm.
The party will field 80 leaders at 80 places in 8 wards of the assembly seat. Party sources said that the plan has been prepared keeping in mind various points.
According to party sources, BJP is trying to show how unnecessary this election is becoming for CM Mamata Banerjee’s personal agenda. The party will show that the election is being held to oust a person who is demanding a mandate even after the defeat in Nandigram.
Secondly, the BJP will try to show how the state machinery will be used to intimidate people in this election. Therefore, as a responsible citizen, people should come out and vote against such a government, say party sources.
80 leaders who are campaigning today will also try to convince people that like Nandigram, Bhabnipur should show that people voted for change, for a new Bengali.
The party is also trying to bring post-poll violence and victims on the election agenda. The party is trying to raise the slogan, “Bangla Aerocom mein ke chaye” or Bengal wants a daughter like Priyanka, not Mamata. The party will campaign in all 80 places with the same message.
The BJP also tries to highlight the case of Manik Saha, who was the victim of the post-poll violence in the state. This will show voters that they will give justice to Manik Saha by voting for BJP.
However, TMC believes that this campaign will not affect their chances of winning. Abhishek Banerjee had earlier said, “One vote will shake the 7 race course in Bhabnipur,” which is the prime minister’s official residence.
