On Sunday 23 January, 10 people were arrested for alleged misconduct Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 The impersonation of candidates was also involved, the police said. The exam was held on 23 January. Earlier this exam was to be held on November 28, but due to paper leak, it had to be canceled.
Circle Officer (City) Abhay Pandey said one of the proxy candidates has been identified as Amarjeet Verma. He was arrested from Saket Girls Inter College Examination Center in which he was appearing in place of aspirant Vivek Kumar. Police have recovered an electronic device from the accused.

The Special Task Force (STF) said that another proxy candidate, Vijay Bahadur Saroj, appearing for the examination in place of Deepak Kumar, was arrested from Prayagraj. While Pappu Singh alias Arnav Singh, a resident of Vaishali district of Bihar, has been arrested from Jaunpur district. Solver gang member Sonu Pal, who used to take hefty money from candidates, was arrested by the police in Moradabad.
Three members of solver gang including a mastermind and a candidate have been arrested in Meerut. The STF said that the arrested people have been identified as Monu Prajapati, a resident of Baghpat, who is a mastermind, Anil Kumar, a candidate and a resident of Bulandshahr, and Raja Tomar, a solver and a resident of Baghpat. STF said Sarvjit Verma from Pratapgarh, Raju Kumar Manjhi from Bihar’s Siwan district and Dinesh Chandra Singh, Fatehpur, who used to extort huge amount from UPTET 2021 candidates for providing them solvers, were arrested from Prayagraj.
During UPTET 2021 paper leak case on November 28, total 34 accused Arrested. The police had arrested Gaurav Kumar, who was allegedly selling question papers, from Aligarh. According to the STF, the suspects had sold the question paper for Rs 4 lakh, while at some places it was sold for Rs 1 lakh. The police have also identified the places from where the photocopies of these documents were taken out.

Earlier, there were four from Lucknow, three from Meerut, two from Varanasi, and Gorakhpur each, one each from Kaushambi and 13 from Prayagraj. The police have also recovered mobile phones and other important documents of the accused. STF raided several districts including Prayagraj, Meerut, Jhansi, Noida, Baghpat, Shamli, Varanasi and Kaushambi and interrogated three others in Lucknow.
