The ‘Harry Potter’ books are a sentiment. Back in 1997, the first book in the Harry Potter series was released. The series sparked a worldwide trend of wand fighting, chanting, wearing hats and pointy hats, and what not. The books were later redeemed into films, which were a blockbuster hit. Even today the enthusiasm and craze about ‘Harry Potter’ has not diminished. Movies generally don’t live up to the standards of books, but this was not the case with Harry Potter. That being said, there are some interesting things to do for Potterheads. Here are some Hogwarts Express scenes that were mentioned in the books but were missing from the movies.
- Ginni is a member of ‘Slug Club’
The film ‘Half-Blood Prince’ stars Ginny Weasley as a member of Horace Slughorn’s ‘Slug Club’. Unfortunately, the film did not explain why. According to the book, Slughorn saw Ginny use a bat-bogie hex on Zacharias Smith. He was so impressed that he decided to recruit her.
- Hermione and Ron were made prefect
In the novel, Hermione and Ron were made prefects. In one of the scenes described in the book – Harry is in a bad mood when Ron and Hermione are forced to sit away from him on the Hogwarts Express because he has been made prefect. Harry finds himself in a car with Ginny, Neville and Luna Lovegood.
- The Dursleys are being threatened by the Order of the Phoenix
According to the end of ‘Order of the Phoenix’ in the book, as Harry disembarks from the Hogwarts Express, he is stunned to see Alastair Moody, Nymphadora Tonks and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley waiting for him. The book shows the Order of the Phoenix threatening the Dursleys and telling them that they will come to visit Harry if he is mistreated. It appears to be a sweet moment, especially as Harry is dealing with Sirius’ death.
- Harry left his Triwizard Cup money
Don’t we all remember the successful business of Weasley Brothers – Wizard Wheezes. At the end of ‘Goblet of Fire’, Harry was heartbroken after killing Cedric Diggory. Next, he gave his entire Triwizard tournament prize money to Fred and George.
- letter of sirius and pidvijon
At the end of the book Prisoner of Azkaban, Ron replaces Scabbers as Pigwizzon as the owl. The owl was sent by Sirius with a sweet letter, in which he promises to be with Harry for the rest of his life. Sirius gave his consent and included a Hogsmead permission slip so that Harry could visit the Wizarding Village.
- Redemption and Death of Wormtail
Even the Harry Potter movies ignored Wormtail’s redemption and death. Wormtail’s original death has a lot of meaning and significance as he managed to reach a second redemption before being killed for betrayal. His death in the book also showed that there was a part of him that repented of what he had done to his friends. But the movies decided to ignore his redemption and death.
