‘Fukrey 3’ to go on floors in February: Richa Chadha
Actress Richa Chadha says the third installment of hit boy comedy franchise “Fukrey” is set to start production next month after being delayed last year due to the pandemic. Filming will begin in February in five-six cities and Chadha said that he has started preparations for it.
Directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, the Delhi-set comedy was put on hold last April due to the lockdown in Maharashtra, as the film involved the filming of large crowd scenes.
“We’re ready, we’re going to shoot the film next month. It’s totally happening. I have my costume trial scheduled, I’m taking horse riding lessons for this. The movie is about to get bigger, better, I am really excited. I am looking forward to being back on home ground and with the team.”
The film stars the actor as local gangster Bholi Punjaban and follows the story of four friends – played by their real-life partners Ali Fazal, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh – who come together to make easy money. .
Chaddha, who has been playing fan-favorite characters in the franchise since its first installment in 2013, said that the latest chapter will also follow a crazy premise.
“I love Mrig. The cast and I are friends. The schedule will be spread across all locations as we are shooting in five-six cities. It has a ridiculous premise, which is belied by the amazing performance of my partner, Cute ‘Overgrown man,’ she added.
“Fukrey 3” is backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, which also produces the Prime Video series “Inside Edge” starring Chadha.
Chaddha will next be seen in Disney Plus Hotstar series “The Great Indian Murder”, which is slated to release on February 4.
