The jobs promised in Punjab elections have been a recurring theme for years if not decades. In election after election, political parties have assured unemployed youth that they will generate employment if voted to power. But the situation remains the same irrespective of which political party forms the government. It is election season again in Punjab and parties are back to promise ‘lakhs’ jobs and ‘jobs per family’, but the youth has little hope.
