55 planes took off over the bay in Visakhapatnam, people are in awe

As part of the full rehearsal for the Presidential Fleet Review (PFR) scheduled for February 21, around 55 aircraft belonging to the Aviation Wing of the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard flew over the Bay of Bengal here on Friday morning.

On the blue waters of the gulf, 60 ships of the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard, the Shipping Corporation of India and the Ministry of Earth Sciences stood anchored in the pillar construction.

The roar of flying planes after another forced not only beach-goers but people on the streets of the city to stop their vehicles and look up at the sky.

Almost all types of aircraft from Hawk advanced jet trainers to MIG 29K fighters and Boeing P-8I Neptune to captured Indian Navy, which specializes in anti-submarine detection and warfare for Dorniers, participated. Fighter jets flying in the rehearsal blue skies were a sight to behold.

fog spoils the game

Although the city had been covered with dense fog since morning, it spoiled the game, and many expected that this would not happen on February 21.

Although the proceedings will take place at the anchorage, which is about 8 km from the shore, and nothing much will be visible, at least the first row of ships and the flypast can be seen somewhat from shore if the sky is clear.

The same thing happened during the PFR in 2006 and 2016, Ch said. Srinivasa Rao, a resident of Beach Road.

“Apart from the roar of the plane, nothing much could be seen on Friday,” he said.

ship lights

Even if people miss out on the view of the PFR, they can still enjoy the evening on the beach, as all the ships will be illuminated. They can get a feel for how ships will be anchored in pillar construction.

It is learned that the ships will also be illuminated on Saturday and Sunday for the convenience of the people.
