Andhra minister Gowtham Reddy dies of heart attack at the age of 50

Andhra minister Mekapati Gowtham Reddy died of a heart attack on Monday, February 21. He was taken to Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad, where he was declared brought dead.

Andhra Pradesh minister Mekapati Gowtham Reddy died of a heart attack on Monday, February 21. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad, where he passed away.

He was the son of industrialist and politician M Rajamohan Reddy, former MP from Nellore. Gowtham Reddy was born on 31 December 1976. He completed his master’s degree from the University of Manchester.

He became an MLA for the first time in 2014. The 50-year-old YSRCP leader represented Atmakur constituency in Nellore district. He served as the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Information Technology.

He won his first general election in 2019 from Atmakur. The minister had returned from Dubai on Sunday where he was leading a government delegation at the Dubai Expo 2022.

Telangana minister KT Rama Rao condoled the death of his colleague.

He wrote on Twitter and said, “Deeply saddened and shocked to learn about the sudden demise of dear friend Mekapati Gautam Garu. My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends in this hour of grief. Gone too soon brother. Pray that You rest. In peace”
