Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said the controversy over wearing the hijab was unnecessary as there was no restriction on wearing the dress.
Talking to reporters here, the Union Minister said, “The matter is already in the court but such disputes will not help anyone.” People in the country are free to wear whatever they want. Some institutions may have brought some dress decorum. People should understand that rights and duties are equally important.”
Asked about the delay in the formation of Waqf Board in Puducherry, the minister said the issue has been taken up with the Chief Minister who is looking into the issue.
