He said that Assam has been gifted with extraordinary beauty of nature and rich biodiversity. The President appealed, “Every resident of Assam, especially the youth, should be very active on the fronts of conservation and sustainable development.”

He said that Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve is an impressive example of conservation. Kovind will travel from Tezpur to Kaziranga and will also inaugurate an exhibition on conservation.

He lauded TU for collaborating with some of the major industries, saying, “Special emphasis is being given on development initiatives in the eastern part of India, especially in the Northeast.”

Stating that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe impact on education, he said, the National Education Policy will give adequate emphasis on digital education. He said that the upcoming digital university will provide world-class quality, universal education and personalized learning experience at the doorsteps of students across the country.

“Digital University will provide education in various Indian languages. Tezpur University can become an active stakeholder in this initiative, especially by providing high quality digital content in Assamese and other languages ​​of the Northeast,” Kovid said.
