Confirming the existence of casting couch in Bollywood, he recalled an incident and said, ‘In the mid-2000s, I was called by a famous producer, who said that you have to be in the good books of the hero. I didn’t know what he meant. So, I called up Nayak, who asked me to meet him alone. At the time, he was being accused of infidelity, so he asked me to leave his staff and meet him. I called the producer and said that I am here because of my talent and looks and if it can get me good work, that is good enough. I was thrown out of the film. Isha is also sad that she settled for small roles in the early years of her career in films. He said, ‘I didn’t compromise, but I had to settle for smaller roles after I was promised bigger parts in films. So, while the filmmakers got a good deal, I got a raw one. It all boils down to poor management and trusting the wrong people. The only film for which I received critical acclaim was D, in which I was seen in a small part.’ Meanwhile, on the work front, Esha made her Bollywood debut in the year 1998 with the film ‘Ek Tha Dil Ek Thi Dhadkan’.
