Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) officials on Thursday arrested a junior superintendent of the Deputy Directorate of Education, who had allegedly demanded sex with a woman in return for helping her get a loan from the provident fund. . The arrested person has been identified as Vinod CR, a native of Kannur. He was arrested by VACB officials from a hotel in Kottayam on Thursday.
The accused, the nodal officer of Government Aided Institutions (GAIN) PF Wing, allegedly invited the woman to a lodge room and asked her to bring a new shirt. The employee of the state education department had earlier applied for a loan from her PF account.
On the complaint of the woman, the officials laid a trap and caught the accused officer red-handed from the lodge room. During interrogation, the officials also recovered the messages sent by the accused to the complainant. Officials said that the accused will be produced in the Vigilance Court.
