Daniel Radcliffe to play Wolverine in the MCU? Harry Potter actor reacts to X-Men rumors

Daniel Radcliffe has responded to rumors that he may play the new Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Harry Potter actor has time and again speculated to fill the shoes of Hugh Jackman, who was last seen playing the X-Men character in 2017’s Logan. However, Daniels again stated that if and when Wolverine is introduced in the MCU he is not playing the X-Men.

The host asked Daniels if she had been approached to play Wolverine on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The British actor denied the claims and explained the possible reasons behind the rumours. “It’s something that’s come up over and over again over the years. Every time it comes up I’m like, ‘That’s not true, there’s nothing behind it,’ and everybody’s like, ‘Oh, she said it might be true!’ And I’m like, no, I didn’t. I said the opposite!” she explained.

“Sometimes I get bored answering the question in a sensible way, so I’ll make a joke and every time I joke, I’m like, ‘Why did you do that?’ So the other day, I was like, ‘Prove me wrong, Miracle.’ And it has ignited a whole thing,” he joked.

Daniels thinks people associate him with Wolverine, probably because the character of the X-Men in the comics is small. However, Jimmy thought Daniels would be a “great” Wolverine. Responding to the compliment, the actor said, “Anything that captures the fleeting likeness of Hugh Jackman is incredibly flattering so I’m happy with him.” Jimmy then scoffed at the jokes and rumors, saying, “I’m so glad you decided to announce on our show that you’re playing Wolverine. That’s great!”

Marvel Studios has yet to reveal its plans for the X-Men characters. However, fans are already speculating that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the gateway for characters to enter the MCU.
