Maserati Grecale SUV makes global debut, electric version expected next year – Times of India

italian automaker Maserati Unveiled Grekel The SUV, a brand new compact SUV, will be offered in multiple powertrains including an all-electric variant in 2023.
The company says that the Grecale SUV is designed to accommodate pure-combustion, hybrid and fully electric drivetrains. Last week, Maserati announced its plans to launch a range of electric vehicles bearing the Folgor brand name, which means “electric” in Italian. One of the first vehicles to feature that nameplate will be the Grecale. The Greytail sits below the Levante in Maserati’s SUV line-up.

Maserati Grayscale: Exterior Design
maserati grayscale The Levante follows the same design language as the SUV and the influence of the new MC20 is evident in its “low and grand grille” and its silhouette.
At the rear, the boomerang taillights are inspired by the Giugiaro 3200 GT sports coupe from 1998 that are fitted with trapezoidal lines.

The Grecell is 4846 mm tall by 1670 mm and 2163 mm wide, has a wheelbase of 2901 mm and shares its base with the Alfa Romeo Giorgio.
Maserati Grackle: Interior
The interior and cabin is a significant departure from the outgoing Maserati model, it gets a new four-screen set-up which is said to offer more digital capability while allowing for a more user-friendly switchgear design.

The interior features a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, the largest ever seen on a Maserati, an 8.8-inch display for climate control, and a third display for rear seat passengers. A Sonus Faber 3D sound system is also included in the package. The Sonus Faber system comes with 14 speakers as standard on the premium level and 21 speakers on-demand on the higher trim level.
Maserati Greytail: Variants and Engine Options
The Maserati Grackle will be available in 3 variants when launched. GT, Modena and Trofeo. The GT variant will be powered by a four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine producing 300 hp. The Modena will be powered by a four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine capable of 330 hp, while the mighty Trofeo will be powered by the high-performance 3.0-litre 530 hp V6 Nettuno engine found in the Maserati MC20 sportscar.

Maserati claims a 0-100kph time of 5.6 seconds for the GT variant. In Modena, the same engine is tuned for a 0-100kph time of 5.3 seconds, making 330hp and 450Nm of torque. In Trofeo form, Maserati claims the Grecale will accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds and will continue accelerating until reaching 285kmph.
Maserati Grecale: All-Electric Variant Coming Too!

Along with the standard Grecale, Maserati also unveiled the all-electric Grecale Folgore. Maserati keeps most of the EV-relevant specs under wraps, including range, battery size, and charging time. One thing we can say is that it will come with a 400-volt architecture, similar to the one used by most EVs today.
When launched, the Grecelle Folgore will compete with Porsche’s upcoming Macan EV, Taycan, BMW IX, Mercedes-Benz EQE and Audi e-tron.
