Despite having a government job, UP BOY took GATE 2022 for ‘Dream’ company, AIR 9. Received

Tushar Choudhary, a native of Ghaziabad, has secured All India Rank 9 in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022, He appeared in the Electrical Engineering stream despite having a government job. He is currently working in POWERGRID. However, his goal is to work at POSCO, which he calls his “dream” company.

This was also his second attempt at the exam. He wanted to rank higher than the first time in order to get his “dream” job. Tushar explains, “Though I took the exam earlier, I tried a second time to improve my score and get a job as an electrical engineer.” ,

Clarity of concepts and in-depth study of previous years questions helped him to crack the exam with such good marks. He says that he divided the questions according to the ease of completion and attempted the exam accordingly.

“I adopted a very systematic approach and studied using previous year question papers and test series. Additionally, BYJU’S Exam Prep helped me to grasp and understand the concepts easily. This is my second attempt and I was successful in securing AIR 9,” says Tushar.

When asked about the difficulty level of the question paper as compared to the previous year, he said that it was between easy to moderate. He says that it is important to solve the easy questions first. “This year’s question paper was somewhere easy to moderate. Maths Aptitude section was the easiest for me. I would advise future candidates to attempt that section first and then move on to the rest of the questions,” says Tushar.

While his father is a government officer on special duty (OSD) on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, his mother is a homemaker and his brother is a doctor at AIIMS. Unlike his brother, he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and take up a job in the government sector. Tushar says, “I was always inspired by my father’s job and wanted to follow in his footsteps.”
