Fourth wave of Covid in India soon: What Karnataka health minister said on XE edition

With new COVID variants including Omicron hybrid strain XE circulating, Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar urged everyone to complete their COVID-19 vaccination doses at the earliest. Also, the minister said that the state is prepared to face the fourth COVID wave.

“Please ensure that all your vaccination doses are completed at the earliest,” Sudhakar urged after meeting with the COVID-19 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) amid the rise in cases of XE Edition COVID-19. He further appealed to the people to wear masks and said that Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur predicts another COIVD-19 wave Around June and July.

About the XE variant, which is already circulating in eight different countries including China, Hong Kong, South Korea, UK and Germany, he said similar cases are rising in Delhi and Haryana.

Sudhakar said, “TAC has suggested thermal screening, strict surveillance, mandatory quarantine for a period of 7-10 days for travelers coming from these eight countries. The government will soon issue guidelines in this regard.”

Speaking about vaccination, he said, “4.77 crore (98 per cent) people in the over 60 category have taken the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and only 49 per cent have taken their precautionary dose. Already a decline In this age group. I urge everyone to please complete all dosages.”

“Some people have in the past blamed the government for the COVID-19 wave and lack of vaccines. Now, there is enough supply and we have made many requests to people to get the vaccine. People should get the vaccine and Must cooperate with the government,” he added.

hospital fee

Regarding overcharging of the hospital, the minister said that the government will not tolerate it. “We have received complaints about some hospitals charging more for vaccines. The government will not tolerate this,” he said.

Sudhakar said that a high level meeting has been held and a committee has been constituted in this regard. The prices fixed for CT Scan, MRI and others should be considered as new prices for the future and not just for COVID-19.
