maruti suzuki All set to introduce a mid-life facelift for the second-gen Ertiga On April 15 in India, the manufacturer is taking pre-bookings for the updated MPV from last week at a token amount of Rs 11,000. In an exclusive conversation with Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director – Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), we have learned that 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Has received over 6,000 bookings in just 6 days.
The Ertiga has been one of the best-selling MPVs in the Indian market since its arrival, and the mid-life update is expected to further enhance its dominance in the segment, which now also includes Mahindra Marazzo, Kia Carens. As its six-seat sister to the Ertiga – the XL6, which is also going to get a mid-life refresh soon.
Powering up the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift There will be a new 1.5-litre four-cylinder dual VVT engine with mild hybrid technology. This engine is expected to produce the same 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. However, the 4-speed AT gearbox that was offered with the pre-facelift version will now be replaced with a new 6-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters.
Other new features will likely include the latest version of Maruti Suzuki’s SmartPlay infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel. The new safety technology could include 6 airbags on the top-end variant along with a 360-degree view camera.
In terms of design, the overall silhouette of the car will remain unchanged. Although 2022 Ertiga It will be equipped with a brand new radiator grille along with a new set of alloy wheels. Slight changes can also be made to the front and rear bumpers. The Ertiga facelift price is expected to start at around Rs.8.4 lakh (ex-showroom).
