A video purportedly being shared on Twitter shows Congress leader Rahul Gandhi grooving to music at a nightclub in a “foreign country”. Some BJP leaders have shared the video on Twitter and criticized the Congress leadership amid communal clashes in Rajasthan, where the party is in power.
BJP’s IT convener Amit Malviya said on Twitter, “Rahul Gandhi was in a nightclub when Mumbai was under siege. He is in a nightclub when his party is about to explode. He is compatible. Interestingly, soon after Congress refused to outsource his presidency, work has begun on his prime ministerial candidate. (sic)”
Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted, “Vacations, parties, holidays, pleasure travel, private foreign travel etc. are nothing new to the nation now…”
Sharing the video, former Delhi unit chief and MP from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari questioned the public conduct of Gandhi family’s descendants. He targeted the Congress leadership.

BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla also took to Twitter to question Rahul’s leadership amid the tension in Rajasthan. He said, ‘Rajasthan burns but Rahul Gandhi likes to party more than his own party. He tweets about various crises in India but prefers bars instead of ‘people of India’. Rahul is not even a part time politician but a ‘party time’ politician. Not the first time…remember his post 26/11 party mode, tweeted Poonawalla.
BJP leader and spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga tweeted, ‘Rahul Bhaiya is in party mood after ending Congress.
The video of the alleged “party” was also shared by Aditya Trivedi, a close aide of BJP national president JP Nadda.
Delhi BJP general secretary and party’s national council member Kuljit Chahal tweeted, “Rahul Gandhi party… guess where he is.”
The Kathmandu Post, a leading Nepalese daily, had listed Rahul Gandhi’s itinerary and the reason for his visit to the country. However it did not contain any reference to the video.
“Gandhi (Rahul) reached Kathmandu at 4:40 pm on a Vistara Airlines flight. He was accompanied by three other people at the Kathmandu airport, two security sources confirmed. Sources said that Gandhi and his friends are staying at Naxal’s Kathmandu Marriott Hotel. Gandhi is in Kathmandu to attend the wedding of his Nepali friend Sumnima Udasi.
Uttar Pradesh BJP’s social media co-convenor Shashi Kumar also shared the video and alleged that the Congress leader was in company with the Chinese ambassador to Nepal.
Kumar tweeted, “Rahul Gandhi is tweeting from a pub in Kathmandu with the Chinese ambassador to Nepal about the pathetic state of the Indian economy. Congress must explain this alliance.”
BJP leader Kapil Mishra also asked on Twitter the identity of the woman seen in the video. He said that it is not about Rahul Gandhi’s personal life. He also questioned whether he was with Chinese agents.

Meanwhile, BJP ST Morcha’s social media in-charge Dhaval Patel also took to Twitter to compare Union Minister Smriti Irani with Rahul in Amethi. Patel tweeted, “Absolutely difference: Union Minister Smritirani Ben is in Wayanad, Kerala for development works and public meetings while Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi is partying somewhere in Nepal…”
