Dead shark found hanging outside US school, student claims it was a prank

A group of students from a Florida school found a dead shark hanging from the ceiling outside.

A group of students at Ponte Vedra High School in Florida, United States, were met with a horrifying sight on Thursday morning when they found a dead shark hanging from the ceiling.

Local media outlets circulated photos shared on Snapchat by school students, but did not reveal their identities. One of the students claimed that it was a prank by the senior students, according to newsweek,

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) officials told local media outlets that a group of five students from Ponte Vedra High School hung the shark from the roof of the school’s courtyard at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the FWCC, the shark was caught on Tuesday night and was frozen before being hanged.

School staff retrieved the shark’s carcass at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
