The purpose of this day is to encourage the recognition and importance of receptionists. It is celebrated in different countries like US, UK, Canada, Australia etc.

Receptionists are usually the representatives who receive the customer upon arrival at a company. They have many responsibilities depending on where they work. Receptionists are often responsible for providing an excellent first impression to all customers, whether in person or over the telephone. Their job is to maintain invoices and also organize office maintenance and inventory.
As a result, they are often overworked and under-appreciated. Thus, to honor their contribution, every year we celebrate National Receptionist Day to inform people about the role of receptionist in a company where they are equally needed to run the administrative structure.
