Noida: The Noida Authority announced on Monday that resurfacing and repair work on the carriageway of Noida-Greater Noida expressway at night with all reasonable precautions, including fence And reflector board.
The decision comes after a car accident on the expressway earlier this month in which one person was killed. The car owner had collided with a road roller parked on the expressway near Sector 145.
Noida Authority’s Chief Executive Officer Ritu Maheshwari, in a meeting with the officials of the Civil Construction Department on Monday, asked the Senior Manager of Work Division-10 to ensure barricading around the area where the work is being done. At night, retro reflective boards will also be installed to warn motorists about the ongoing work and discourage them from over speeding.
Further, to streamline the traffic around Parthala Chowk, the Noida Authority will facilitate diversion of vehicles towards Gaur City through service lanes. For the past few days, several motorists had reported that it was becoming difficult to commute on the stretch during the peak evening hours. Since the authority is working on the main carriageway, an alternate route will be provided through service lanes from Sector 71 towards Gaur City to Parthala Chowk.
