Deepika Padukone opted for a Sabyasachi saree as the Bollywood star walked the red carpet of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.

The actor, who served as a jury member for the 75th edition of the film gala, graced the Cannes red carpet in a black and gold sari with matching jewelery from ace designer Akash Tara collection.

The outfit featured stripes, which were printed and hand-embroidered by some of India’s finest craftsmen, read a note posted on Sabyasachi’s official Instagram handle.

To complete the look, Padukone matched the sari with a headband and chandelier earrings.

On the red carpet, Padukone accompanied fellow jury members French actor Vincent Lindon, English actor-filmmaker Rebecca Hall, Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Swedish actor Noomi Rapace, Italian actor-director Jasmine Trinka, French filmmaker-actor Ladz Lee, American Posed with filmmaker Jeff. Nichols and Norwegian director-screenwriter Joachim Trier are from Norway.

This sari was Padukone’s second Sabyasachi outfit at Cannes, after attending a photocall with the rest of the jury members earlier in the day.

For the photocall, the 36-year-old actor wore a beige and green outfit and jewelery from Sabyasachi’s resort chain collection “Tropic of Calcutta”.

The outfit consisted of a Mysore silk shirt with digital renderings of hand-painted vintage flora inspired by the company’s paintings, along with Sabyasachi monogram buttons and pleated wool green trousers.

She paired this dress with Lucknow Rose, a deconstructed Maharani necklace crafted from richly sourced multicolored gems and uncut diamonds.

As part of an eight-member jury, Padukone, who is known for her films “Piku”, “Padmaavat” and “Gheraiyaan”, will be able to select the winner for the prestigious Palme d’Or during the closing ceremony on May 28. will help

India is also the official country of honor at the Marche du Cannes (Cannes Film Market). In addition, a restored version of Satyajit Ray’s “Pratidwandi” will be showcased at the festival.
