Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, is one of the most advanced cities in India. The city has emerged as one of the fastest growing mature technological ecosystem in the world. The city is known for encouraging innovations by startups and various technology firms. Business tycoon Anand Mahindra also agrees. In his latest post on Twitter, Mahindra praised Bengaluru as the ‘Innovation Capital of India’. He lauded the city not for any technological innovation, but for a simple idli-sambar plate.
Mahindra wrote thatBangalore Nothing can stop your creativity from manifesting itself in the most unexpected of areas. He posted a picture of idli which was in the shape of ice cream and sambar and coconut chutney were used as a dip. The idlis, which are round in shape, morph into ice cream on a stick.
And then, Mahindra asked, “Those who are in favor, are they in opposition?”
Netizens reacted to the post, most people did not like the transformation of idli. One user wrote, ‘Absolutely against it… eating idli bare hand is the real tradition… it is sick’.
Another user wrote, “I like to tear the soft spongy idli with my hand before eating it..which also indicates how good or bad the idli is made..it will take away that joy”.
“It’s not innovation, it’s destruction! Some wouldn’t make the list of innovations, including idlis. Real idlis are round, small or plated. Anything that comes on top of them is against the love that we currently have on laziness. Is!” One user wrote.
“Idli in round shape is doing fine. Let’s not create extra unwanted waste which can be controlled by authorities and environment”.
