Decision taken in view of Metro construction work between Silk Board and KR Puram

Buses carrying employees of private companies will be allowed to use the Bus Priority Lane (BPL) on the Outer Ring Road (ORR). In a letter to Bengaluru Traffic Police, Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) stated that in view of the Metro construction work between Silk Board and KR Puram, all stakeholders have decided to allow company buses and shuttle services on bus priority lanes Was.

Till now, only city buses and emergency vehicles operated by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) were allowed to use the lane.

The letter states that the company’s name and logo will have to be displayed in the buses carrying the employees.

The move will help hundreds of employees working in the area. Several companies located on either side of the ORR provide shuttle services to the Silk Board or Baiyappanahalli Metro Station.

“The number of employees returning to work is increasing. Allowing company buses on BPL will reduce the movement of private vehicles, especially cars,” said Krishna Kumar Gowda, operations manager of Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA).

BMRCL is building a metro corridor between Silk Board and KR Puram as part of its ORR-Airport line.
