McDonald’s UK’s new summer menu splits Twitter with tiramisu and more

McDonald’s is one of the most popular fast-food chains and a favorite for many people across the globe. It is known for creating local menus that attract and cater to diners from different places. Embracing summer and keeping customer needs in mind, McDonald’s UK has taken a step forward by launching two new limited-edition summer menus. They offer a fresh selection of items inspired by the flavors of the Mediterranean. The fast-food chain is offering these items in two separate phases; The first is themed from 8 June to 26 July and around ‘The Taste of Italy’, the second from 27 July to 6 September, as ‘A Taste of Spain and Cyprus’.

To celebrate Italy, the menu includes an Italian Stack Burger, Crispy Chicken Italiana Burgers, Mozzarella Dippers, and Tiramisu McFlurry. The Italian Stack Burger is inspired by the famous lasagne. The second menu celebrates Spain and Cyprus with a spicy Spanish stack burger, chicken fiesta burger, halloumi fries and a fruit punch.

McDonald’s UK took to Instagram stories to post a video behind the scenes of its Italian menu. In the story, he wrote “The Summer Menu is Coming! We went to BTS with @scottcaneat to give you a glimpse of the Italian menu. Launched this Wednesday”. He also added the song ‘Don’t Stop’ by Giulio Cercato. to keep track:

What really stands out from their summer menu is the addition of halloumi fries. While Burger King is already selling these fries across the UK, McDonald’s is adding this item to its menu for the first time and will serve it with a rich tomato ranch sauce.

Their new menu caused quite a stir online, sparking outrage among burger lovers on Twitter. McDonald’s fans were divided over the menu. While some said they couldn’t wait to try the new summer menu, others still weren’t convinced with McDonald’s new items.

One user wrote, “I couldn’t want to! Tiramisu McFlurry My favorite dessert of all time looks absolutely incredible.” Another expressed excitement, “Ow can’t wait!” Some even said, “I’d love to wrap breakfast back.” Another questioned, “Okay, I’m asking for a McRib. Where’s my delivery?”
