New Delhi Government of India is likely to launch a four-year tenure scheme for defense soldiers. Name the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme, the candidates hired under it will have to serve in the Defense Forces for only four years.

According to reports, three army chiefs will announce the launch Agneepath Military Recruitment Scheme In a press conference yesterday.

These service chiefs had informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about this two weeks ago.

The Agneepath Recruitment Scheme will facilitate inducting more soldiers for a shorter tenure. The scheme has been planned and is being implemented by the Department of Military Affairs.

Under this scheme, the candidates will join the defense forces and will remain for a period of four years only. The scheme also aims to involve young candidates.

At the end of four years, about 80% of the soldiers will be relieved of duty and will receive assistance from the armed forces for further employment opportunities.

Many corporations will also be interested in reserving jobs for trained and disciplined youth who have served their country.

Preliminary calculations by the Armed Forces estimated thousands of crores in savings in salaries, allowances and pensions if a considerable number of soldiers are taken under the tour of duty concept.

The best of the recruited youth may also get an opportunity to continue their service as the vacancies become available. The DMA studied similar recruitment models in eight countries before developing the Indian model.
