Citroen C3 to launch in July; Check Specs, Price Here

After introducing the C5 Aircross for the first time in the country, French manufacturer Citroen is all set to launch its C3 in India, aiming to foray into the mass-market segment – the sub-compact SUV segment.

Citroen India is gearing up to launch its C3 in the B-segment hatchback segment in July. Earlier its C5 Aircross was launched in the D-segment SUV category. With this new launch, the firm intends to utilize its 1 billion euro investment in India and compete with Nissan’s Magnite and Renault’s Kieger.

Here are some of the specifications the C3 comes with:

Device: The C3 is powered by two petrol engine options and two manual transmission options. The 1.2-turbo engine comes mated to a six-speed MT, while the second variant gets a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated motor mated to a 5-speed MT unit.

The more powerful engine produces 110 PS and provides 190 Nm of torque, while the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated motor makes 82 PS and 115 Nm of torque.

length: The C3 measures 3,981 mm in length, 1,606 mm long with roof rails, 1,733 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,540 mm.

Boot Space/Ground Clearance: The Citroen C3 has a boot space of 315 liters and a relatively high ground clearance.

Dashboard: The Layout Wireless comes with a 10.2-inch main infotainment screen with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also, the all-digital display, steering mounted controls and plenty of storage space make it more interesting.

Interior space: Impressive space with good under-thigh support and cusped seats for rear seat passengers. Whereas for passengers in the middle, ear in the central floor tunnel fleet space, as well as no armrests are available here.

Luggage space: Although the boot is deep – as the accessories can be oiled on top of each other – the opening for the boot is rather narrow and has a high lift angle.

What is not available: The C3 will not come with some of the usual elements like alloy wheels and rear-view camera, however, they will come as optional extras.

expected value: Since the C3 is expected to compete with Nissan’s Magnite, Renault’s Kiger and similar subcompact SUVs, a starting price of Rs. 5.5-6.5 lakh ex-showroom.
