Google Pixel offers some pretty cool security features for smartphone users. Now it appears the tech giant is all set to bring other security features Android Equipment too. The pre-installed personal protection car offers features such as accident detection, location sharing during emergencies, and nearby distress alerts.
According to a report by 9to5Google, Google is preparing to bring car crash detection and other safety features to non-Pixel smartphones. The report reveals that the latest decompile version of the application uploaded by Google to the Play Store indicates that these security features are coming to other Android smartphones.
Car crash detection is one of the most loved safety features on Pixel smartphones.
The crash detection feature uses ultra-low-power sensors to detect audio and high-speed movement to determine whether a device is involved in a crash. So, if a Pixel phone detects a vehicle collision, an alarm will sound and the phone will call the user if they need assistance. And if the responder says yes, Pixel will contact emergency personnel.
Along with this, the personal safety app can also be used to alert the users in times of any natural calamity like flood, earthquake etc. Hence, all these features are expected to come to other Android smartphones in the future.
“It is not immediately clear how these personal protection features will be made available to other Android phones, especially when sensitive permissions are required for the app to be able to function correctly. One possibility suggested in the code is this. that these personal protective features will be made available through google play servicesWhich already has the required permissions on most Android phones,” the report said.
