Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari blown the path of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra with a broom. The Rath Yatra was organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Mumbai on Sunday.
After having darshan of Lord Jagannath along with Lord Baladeva and Goddess Subhadra, the Governor cleared the way in front of the chariot carrying the idols of the three deities.
On the occasion, the Governor paid tribute to Srila Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). He said that Srila Prabhupada showed people the simple path of devotion in today’s age when people do not have time to understand Vedas and Upanishads.
Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra started from Bhaktivedanta Swami Mission School in Andheri and left for ISKCON Temple, Juhu. Thousands of devotees were present.
The Governor said that even though the evil caste system is still prevalent in the country, there is no distinction of caste and creed in front of Lord Jagannath.
Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, Dr. Surdas, Devkinandan Prabhu, Chairman of Rath Yatra Committee LM Khurana, Mukund Madhav Prabhu, singer Anuradha Paudwal and devotees were present.

It falls on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. This year it is falling on 1st July 2022.
