A 26-year-old woman was found murdered at her home in Thalakudi near Tiruchi on Thursday and the body was wrapped in polythene under a cot. Police identified the victim as N. Shivranjani, who lived in a rented house with her husband P. Narasimharaju (38) and two daughters.
The Kolidam police are on the lookout for Narasimharaju who has been charged with murder. Police sources said Shivranjani’s parents met her on Sunday and could not be contacted over phone thereafter. On Thursday, the parents came to Shivranjani’s house and found it locked.
On suspicion, they apparently broke the locks and killed Shivranjani and found the body wrapped in a polythene sheet under the cot. Sources said the body had some cut marks and it has been sent for post-mortem. Police said Narasimharaju had sold his house due to debt and lived in a rented house with his family. He is said to have spent money playing online rummy due to which there were frequent fights between the couple. Kolidam police is probing the case on the complaint of Shivaranjani’s mother Nagavalli.
