Former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam (OPS), who was ousted from the AIADMK a few days ago, has been removed from the post of deputy floor leader in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, the party announced on Tuesday.
Party’s interim general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) said former minister RB Udayakumar was unanimously elected deputy leader of the AIADMK in the assembly.
In a party release, Mr Palaniswami said Mr Udayakumar, who represents the Thirumangalam assembly constituency, was chosen as the deputy leader by the party at a meeting of its legislators held here on July 17.
Besides this, Agriculture SS Krishnamurthy, who was also a former minister, was elected as the deputy secretary of the legislature party, he said.
Mr. Panneerselvam was expelled from the party on July 11 and matters related to this are before the court.
