Necessary technical staff deployed at all airports to check and certify aircraft before each flight, airlines tell DGCA – Times of India

New Delhi: Indian carriers gave this information on Thursday. Directorate General of Civil Aviation ,DGCA) He airplane Now being checked and certified by properly trained technical staff at all airports across the country. After analyzing engineering-related incidents in recent months, the regulator on 18 July reported “misidentification of the cause of the malfunction and certifying staff required to complete multiple scheduled arrivals and departures in a short span of time”. unavailability” was identified. Among the contributing factors for the same. it was ordered airlines These problems have to be resolved by July 28.
A DGCA official said on Thursday: “To address the shortfall, several meetings were held with the airlines (and they were directed) to provide necessary type-rated certified staff at all stations (airports) so that it Ensure that there are flaws. Corrected properly before leaving the aircraft for operation. All airlines have reported that all stations are now operated by type rated certified staff by sending them to ‘temporary posting’ or ‘flight duty’ Is.
The regulator, in a July 18 order, had said that its on-the-spot investigation has revealed three key factors, the third being an increasing trend of issuing financially stressed aircraft under the Minimum Equipment List (MEL). Under MEL, an aircraft is allowed to fly by allowing a non-critical component to be repaired or replaced within a certain time frame. The regulator had directed airlines to deal with these issues by July 28, failing which strict action would be taken.
The DGCA order, issued on July 18, said: “In the recent past there have been reports of increase in engineering related incidents in scheduled airlines. To ensure that the airlines are adhering to the prescribed standards, DGCA has conducted several spot checks in the recent past…. Airlines are repeatedly resorting to one-time authorization for Category A certified employees at transit stations, which is not in line with the existing regulatory provisions.
Based on these findings, DGCA has directed that all aircraft at base and transit stations shall be issued by their organization by certified staff holding AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) category B1/B2 license with appropriate authorization. “You (airlines) are therefore advised to deploy certified staff (AME Category B1/B2 licenses) at all base and transit stations, including the availability of necessary equipment and equipment. Alternatively, you may certify employees on flight duty. Compliance of the above shall be ensured by July 28, 2022,” said the order issued by DGCA Deputy DG Tuhinanshu Sharma.
