‘Mahabharat’ actor Rasik Dave dies at 65

Actor Rasik Dave, who appeared in Hindi and Gujarati films and shows, passed away after a prolonged illness, a family member said. He was 65 years old.

His mother-in-law and veteran actor Sarita Joshi said that Mr. Dave, who was suffering from kidney ailment for the last four years, breathed his last on Friday evening.

“Dave had weakness, he had blood pressure and kidney problems. He was on dialysis. He was in the hospital for about 15 to 20 days. He was brought home on Thursday and I met him and he smiled at me. He passed away. Gaya. Tomorrow at 7-7.30 pm,” said Ms. Joshi PTI,

Dave’s last rites were performed at around 7 am on Saturday in the presence of family members and close friends.

The actor started his career in 1982 with a Gujarati film ‘Putra Vadhu’.

In Hindi films and TV shows, the actor is known for his work in TV shows such as ‘Jhoothi’, ‘Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka’, ‘Mahabharat’, ‘Sanskar – Dharohar Apno Ki’ and dance reality films directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Is. The series ‘Nach Baliye’, in which he appeared with his wife and popular TV artist Ketki Dave.

The actor-couple had formed a theater company.

Ms. Joshi said, “He was a good actor and an equally good human being. He had an LLB degree but he loved acting. Ketki and he was much loved for his plays, especially when he went abroad to perform. used to travel.”

Mr. Dave is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
