TVS Motor Company has launched the new Jupiter 125 cc scooter in India. The new 125 cc scooter is priced at Rs 73,400 for the sheet-metal variant. The drum-alloy variant costs ₹76,800 while the disc variant costs ₹81,300 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). - The new TVS Jupiter 125 has the same wheelbase as the Jupiter 110, but the model is taller and wider in comparison while sporting several new features, some of which are segment-first.
Jupiter 125 looks familiar but has many premium elements. The all-metal body has been retained
- TVS Jupiter 125 sports familiar looks with simple styling along with LED headlamps on top with integrated indicators across the front apron.
- However, the indicators now get LED guidelines which give a new signature look to the model. You also get the same LED pattern for the taillight which is now wider.
- The top disc brake variant gets chrome inserts on the front apron, headlamps, side panels and exhaust muffler. There is also a reflector integrated into the Grab Rail.
The seat is 25mm longer and 40mm longer for the rear sitter, which is 65mm longer overall than the Jupiter 110.
- The scooter gets an all-metal body and is offered with vibrant colors – orange, blue and grey.
- The fuel filler lid is moved forward and the fuel tank is now placed under the floorboard. This makes up for 60:40 (front: rear) weight distribution and also brings in additional convenience in the form of a larger under-seat storage capacity at 32 liters.
- The floorboard is also wider and provides better legroom and a flat board which makes things easier to carry.
Jupiter 125 is capable of running at a speed of 70 kmph. It is stable at high speed. Refinement levels are top notch, even though the engine becomes a bit audible at higher rpms
- Other features including analog instrument console with digital display, all-in-one ignition, TVS Intelligo auto start-stop system, one-touch starter, combi-braking and more.
- Power comes from the newly-developed 124.8 cc single-cylinder engine that is tuned to make 8.18 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 10.5 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. The motor is mated to a CVT unit.
The braking system with front disc on the top-end variant is one of the best in the segment
- The scooter gets telescopic forks at the front and a segment-first gas-charged rear monoshock. Braking options include front disc and drum set-up on the trim, while the lower variants get drum brakes at either end.
