Maha cabinet expansion: CM Shinde upholds urban development; Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis got home, finance

Notably, Shinde has also kept the environment department with him, which was earlier handled by Aaditya Thackeray.

According to an official order on portfolio allocation on Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has retained his urban development portfolio, while his deputy Devendra Fadnavis has been allotted important home and finance portfolios.

Notably, Shinde also holds the environment portfolio, which was earlier handled by Aaditya Thackeray.

BJP MLA Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil is the new Revenue Minister. He will also halve animal husbandry and dairy development. Sudhir Mungantiwar will head the forestry, cultural activities and fisheries, while Chandrakant Patil will head the higher and technical education, textile industries and parliamentary affairs departments.

Shiv Sena MLAs Abdul Sattar and Deepak Kesarkar have been allotted Agriculture and School Education portfolios respectively.

Earlier this week, Shinde expanded his cabinet, more than 40 days after taking oath as the CM of Maharashtra. At least 18 leaders—nine each from the BJP and Shinde-led Shiv Sena camp—were inducted into the Maharashtra cabinet.
