Faheem Dashti, spokesman for Ahmed Masood, who was leading the resistance movement against the Taliban, was killed during a fight with the Taliban in Panjshir on Sunday.

‘Panjshir, resistance forces fighting against Taliban for both Afghanistan’
Last month, while talking to India Today, Faheem Dashti had said that the resistance forces in Panjshir are fighting against the Taliban. Not just for the province but for Afghanistan.
“We are fighting not just for one province, but for the whole of Afghanistan. We are concerned about the rights of Afghans, women, minorities. The Taliban must assure equality and rights,” he said.
He also said that he is in touch with various countries and expects the rest of the world to talk to the Taliban and bring them to the negotiating table.
Ahmed Masood Ready for peace talks if Taliban withdraw troops from Panjshir
Meanwhile, Ahmed Masood, leader of the resistance forces in Panjshir, said on Sunday that he If the Taliban withdraws its forces from the region, it is ready for peace talks.
“If the Taliban group ends its military attacks and movements in Panjshir and Andrab, the National Resistance Front is prepared to immediately stop the war in order to achieve stable peace,” Ahmed Masood said in a statement. Agreement to end the fight.
According to Reuters, the NRFA chief’s statement came in the wake of reports that Taliban forces fought their way back in the provincial capital, Panjshir, after securing surrounding districts. Taliban spokesman Bilal Karimi said fighting was continuing in Barazat, the capital of the holdout province.
